With "school" as their main theme as well as wearing school uniforms, Oshare Kei band Charlotte known for their cute punk rock style made their "test band" debut in December of 2000 during a live at Yokohama with Kazuno on vocals, Takane on drums, Ruka on bass and support member Mitsujou on guitar. Before their first official live on February 21st 2001, Mitsujou would become a permanent member of the band making Charlotte almost complete. Their last member Touya would later join in November 2001.

Along side bands such as Kra and Duel Jewel, Charlotte participated in various events before releasing their first maxi-single B kyuu idol densetu in September of 2001. In December of that same year they were featured on a compilation album titled Yougenkyou ?star-. More compilation albums would follow in 2003 Hysteric media zone IV and Loop of life III just to name a few. Their second maxi-single, Yokohama love story which sold out upon pre-order was released a few months later in April. Not wanting the fans unable to get their copy to miss out Charlotte did a second press release on May 21st which like the first time sold out also. The bands third maxi-single Otona no kijun released on July 21st would also sell out along with their first one-man at Takadanobaba on August 17th. A second press release of Otona no kijun a few days would contain an extra bonus track.

September and November had the band performing at various events and in October a coupling CD with the band Mask titled Tobe, tobe oyuuki would be released. The maxi-single would reach number four on the Oricon Indies chart.

Gakuen jigoku, their first mini album was released on January 1st 2004. In May their single Koi shinbou mansee!! reached number 6 on the Oricon Indies charts. And another coupling CD this time with the band R*A*P called Uchuu Gakuen.

Their first DVD. called ’Natsuyasumi no Omoide ga Oppai - Saigo no XX Happyo’, was released in two versions: ’Yoko ban’ and ’Hama ban’. They both contained live footage and PV’s. A second mini-album called Ryuunen kettei would be released in April of 2005.

PROFILE :

Created by ex-Miyavi support guitarist Maya and ex-PIERROT guitarist Aiji, Lovely Mocochang or better known as LM.C debuted on the music scene in the Fall of 2006 with their October 4th release of Trailers Gold and Trailers Silver. Being only their first singles, they hit the top 20 on the Oricon music charts.

Trading the guitar in for vocals, Maya with Aiji on guitar and backed up by a support band, LM.C released their third single OH MY JULIET from their first mini-album GLITTER LOUD BOX in January of 2007. Included with the mini album, a DVD titled LM.C 2006 Works which documented the duo’s time in the studio working on the album along with an accompanying photoshoot and the creation of their first PV.

With the recent release of their fourth single BOY&GIRLS, LM.C’s future looks bright thanks in part to their hybrid mixture of rap rock sound that has helped them to be recognized as one of the most unique j-rock bands in Japan. Not following the usual trends and styles other bands seemingly settle into.

Kra is a Japanese Oshare Kei rock band formed in August 2001. They are one of the well known bands that are signed under PS Company, which also has other popular Visual Kei artists and bands such as Kagrra, alice nine, the Gazette and Miyavi, under them. They consist of Keiyuu on vocals, Mai on guitars, Yura on bass and Yasuno on drums.

The band had their first release of their demo tape titled, Brise, on May 18, 2002. They released another demo, Hard Lolita, on November 3, the same year and signed under PS Company same month. Despite starting out in 2001, Kra’s popularity increased tremendously only in December 2005 after their Peace & Smile Tour Final.

Kra debuted as a major band on September 21, 2006, releasing Heart Balance single.

The five member band Antic Café (also known as Antique Café or An Café) was formed in 2003 and are signed to the independent label Loop Ash. The band originated when Miku made contact with Kanon and Bou through an advertisement he had placed on an Internet message board saying that he was looking for a visual kei guitar player.

A typical oshare kei band, Antic Cafe wear colorful clothing and sport androgynous appearances.Their material ranges from fast rock songs with screaming vocals and catchy choruses to more upbeat love songs. All of the band members are in their early to mid twenties, and are as popular for their fashion as their music, with numerous fans cosplaying as their favorite members. The band use Donald Duck as their mascot. Bou often wears women’s clothes and has long, blond hair tied in ribbons. Miku is known for his Donald Duck impressions and large vocal range.

Their first demo Ope.Ning was released in June 2003, followed by a second, Uzumaki Senshokutai a month later.. Shortly afterward, Teruki joined as the band’s drummer. The band found successs with their big selling debut single Candy Holic in 2004.

Three albums and a number of singles followed until Bou announced that he was leaving in April 2007. The following month, the band’s website announced two new members - Yuuki on keyboards and Takuya as Bou's replacement.
